EC: Entertaining input on SA country risk. Guyana is my
primary interest, as GUY.V (the new ticker) has that

lost in the jungle, but at least nobody bugz you

sense about it. My concern, before buying in, is the cost of infrastructure (road, electricity, water) being extended from civilization (such as it is) to the site of any mine they may wish to start on their rather remote property (unless I've missed the infrastructure?).

I've done well buying into your other recommendations when they line up with my value/gambling predilections; thanks for sharing. I am particularly attentive in those rare instances when you and Elizabeth agree on a company. My amateur take is that the market discounting mechanism is pricing in the cost of infrastructure extension in Guyana, and it's a hurdle that will take much more than the usual "good" holes to leap.

Then you've got that Iraqi dinar factor. If the currency of an occupied, combative, fractious and still-poor nation such as Iraq can appreciate against the $USD, what a comical insult to investing prowess it would be to guess right on Guyana shield prospects and end up hosed on exchange rates. I like the Nevada plays right up to the point that the feds take away the gold party wafers as national security objects.
