I don't think US bonds are a good deal. The return is very low, and with the dollar falling, you probably LOSE value by owning bonds. The only way to counter this is by raising the interest rate on the bonds until they make sense again. Politics doesn't enter in at all, but Bush doesn't contribute anything positive here either.
