Responsible parties, like Dick Gephardt, know better than to undermine the president. They may criticize, but they do not demonize, or otherwise signal that the enemy ought to derive hope from divisions in the country. Even Kerry chided Dean for suggesting that the UN had veto power over US policy, thus implicitly supporting Bush's right to act independently. Even Hillary has given support to the fact that the intelligence upon which our actions were based was mounting during her husband's Administration, and was not manufactured. Even Dean has been restrained compared to many on this thread..........
