thanks lurq- i probably would have missed that post. i was on the road today to fetch greg's boat from elephant butte so he can get it ready to take to mexico with me in 60 daze. when i got back, my ballot was waiting in the mailbox. ...and kathleen's and bridgette's. i was surprised because yesterday was the first day ballots were mailed out to those who had already requested them for the caucus in NM. also in the mail was a request form for "vote-by-mail" from the dean campaign. every voter must request his or her own ballot. we've never had a caucus here in NM before so the process is very new - we've always voted in a june primary (which is still being held for all other offices - the caucus is just for the pres.) ...anyway... three votes are "in the mail" already. and i told at least 10 other people how to request their ballots via e-mail last month so they're probably voting right now too. the "new democratic" registrations are nice to hear about. it tells me that the "greens" and the "independents" are just as concerned as the democrats that we all align with the winner of the democratic nomination this year. ABB, eh? i've always been an independent but i register as a democrat because it allows me to vote in democratic primaries where there are more choices that interest me. i can assure you that NM is NOT going to elect GWB in the fall -- unfortunately, we only have 5 electoral votes so we are reaching out to voters in all the other states. i'll guarantee you MY state's electoral votes, if you'll promise me yours. <VBG> thanks dude. -lepolv82
