Rough counting: if creditors demanded payment in gold that would come to 54 ounces per head. If the numbers from the US reserve are right there is 7000 tons which comes to 234 milions ounces which is only about ounce per head. Here is the solution for the United states - drive the POG 54 times higher, pay off the national debt, little bit of personal gold in the private holdings like wedding rings and bracelets will erase the consumer debt and in lots of cases will even pay off the mortgage. What a relief - real party might start over like never before. Happy 2004.
