Yes Gore won the popular vote by a small percentage, but that small percentage works out to be half a million voters.

And yes Bush won the electoral vote after a controversial Florida election was decided by the Supreme Court. But even then the electoral margin was anything but decisive, giving Bush just one more electoral vote than needed to win.

I guess that Ann must be a true blond. Otherwise she would know that the number of states won is irrelevant, as most of them over represent their population with their 3 electoral votes. You might as well say that Bush won more cows than Gore.

I'd say that if Coulter is arguing against getting rid of the electoral college, then it must need to be trashed indeed.

In 2004, it's going to be tough sledding electorally for Bush. I predict a Dem win with 287 electoral votes. And they will win the popular vote as well.
