Gee, this country has been fairly evenly divided politically during every landslide I can remember. Either there has never been a landslide or that doesn't cut it as an excuse.

The rest of your points were fought over for months and are still entirely in dispute.

Maybe you ought ask yourself how, with all the advantages Gore had, it came down to ONE STATE.
