I hung around universities for a long time. They've gone leftish in the humanites, no doubt. But the Boomers are about to retire and younger folk replacing them won't be so rigid in the same manner. Basically, most profs stop developing beyond where they got in grad school and their theses. The Boomer bulge meant less continuous turnover in staffing for quite a while. This is about to change, and the view points will become more varied. frank@godsinhisheavenallsrightwiththeworld.com
