Good grief -- so much for understanding causality. The dollar has plunged by 30% against the euro because of the US current account deficit, combined with low interest rates which are not high enough to entice foreigners to fill the the grand canyon in our national finances. The spiraling federal deficit just adds a few extra tons on the camel's back.
