MQ, I came to the US not because I wanted to flee the pollution in Beijing since when I left, Beijing had about the same quality of air as where I am staying at this moment. If you care to do some research, you will find NOT all immigration is calculated. Such as mine, just an impulse decision (got the full-scholarship within 2.5 months of my first application), by the time I regretted to come here, it was already too late to return.

Yes, the pollution in Beijing is pretty bad, but still many Pekingese live to their 70s and 80s, which is considered not bad even by the developed countries standard.
