You're dancin on the razor's edge there Laz. Trying to split hairs on non issues and red herrings. Trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. And what for?

You're kidding, right? Duray is a radical left wing agitator. I'd be rather surprised if he were the only one.

Yeah like so what? Are you going to silence him? He has the right to exercise free speech. If he thinks that all wars are wrong, then we'll have to disagree with him right? And since this country is governed from the center we can disregard the voices on the fringes, far left anti-war and the "pro nuk'em all" right.

These are voices which ultimately are ignored in the sausage making process we call government. So like I said before, doesn't mean shit.

Yeah. Duray and his ilk lost the Vietnam War in the streets of America.

The Vietnam war is something I know about. Duray and his ilk didn't lose that war, little chicken hawk. That was a stupid fucked up war from the git go, and got worse every day. One of the most ignorantly fought wars we ever engaged in. For every 100 killed in Iraq, there'll be 10,000 more like em killed in Vietnam. F*** you. No entry plan, no exit plan, failure to have any plan, failure to use overwhelming force, but first forgot to have a damn plan anyway.

Folks like Duray probably saved a few 10,000's of boys. Cause Mac was driving the war right into the ground.

And so it is in a democracy, where voices are not to be silenced, but heard without consequence. Are you advocating silencing Duray? Do so at your own peril. Freedom is at stake.

They've got a solution that would work?

If you believe that then you are a very sad man.

Yeah. But you ain't CinC. Or in the military. How many soldiers would that take? How many do you have? Are you willing to reinstitute the draft? Can you move in troops faster than he can move? Suppose he doesn't move. Are you going to send armed US soldiers into every broom closet and basement in Afghanistan and Pakistan? How will the popuation react? You need Pakistan as an ally- -unless you intend an unfriendly occupation of it too

Those are some of the questions that need to be answered, but not all by a long shot. I'd let operations come up with the numbers and the method of deployment. Obviously the special forces working in tandem with the locals was a workable part of the solution. I would have also secured the perimeter with additional troops and air support, literally sealing off the Pakistani border for escape. And yes work with the Pakistanis. They are an ally, right?

Then begin the same process that found Saddam, keep knocking on the doors. In this case the caves.

Key to success is use overwhelming force when confronting the enemy.

How about all those screaming protestors in the streeys later?

That's freedom, freedom of speech. You stop it, then you are guilty of infringement of constitutional rights, you know those things that we fight for?

And then if you disagree with those protestors you can have your own demonstration supporting the war, many do that too. Would you mute the protests and amplify the support for the war effort, mon Furher?

And don't you REALLY wonder about someone who would vote against that? Who's side IS she on?

Why don't you ask her? Check out her positions on her web site?

She has never voiced them.

Have you even listened to her voice? and her reasons? Maybe she had a son killed in nam?

He KNEW we were coming in. He KNEW his army ultimately had to lose. And he stood his ground.

Yes he knew, you're right. He knew that Bush said no more inspectors, and the military buildup continued. There is always plenty of chatter when a large military operation is prepared for. And the Americans weren't trying to hide it. That's when you know uncle sam is coming for a visit!

Saddam is a coward. What did you expect? He was not going to turn himself in. Turn himself over to what? Jail. He was simply a coward without any more options, but to crawl into a hole.

Know what he was waiting for? He was waiting for YOU and Duray to sap the will of the nation. That's what he was waiting for.

LOL. No, that is not right. He was a man with a crappy poker hand, but refused to fold. Nothing more than that, because he knows what Bush has made his mind up to do.

You brought about the very war you claimed you wanted to avoid.

Wow Laz. The war in Iraq is my fault now? What the hell are you smoking?
