Glenn, Don't forget that sickening TV commercial that Johnson ran with the little girl skipping through the flowers, and suddenly, a cloud from an atomic bomb arose in the background. The dirtiest campaign add ever shown, to date. LBJ, was a cheating, lying, back stabbing, SOB that had collected a huge volume of information about those that may oppose him, and threatened them with disclosing any skeletons they may have had in their closets. I am from Texas, and he embarrassed the entire state, but the "good ole boys" that he patted on the back, helped get him the state. That event gave the best boost the the, fledgling Republican party in Texas, that they ever had, and the momentum carried them to the State House, and eventually, the White House.
