This is a new Century. and if the last was exciting and changeful this will be even more so.
With religious beliefs so varied and even expanding,any neww world order will have to relate to economies or ethical considerations.
Fortunately, the desire of people to possess and expand their horizons (hope) is nearly universal so common ground can be found. But ME attempts to regress to an older environment of lost glories are doomed (wrong hope)
What is most needed is time, time to develop more efficient machinery and energy use. Better useage or storage of nuclear plant residues which would then gain support of the public for nuclear power plants to take a big load off hydrocarbon useage.
Swift changes in trade agreements and treaties which many of those now in power will resist.
Watch China grow- they are at a stage where the US was in 1920. Everyone is going to want motor transportation and the sense of control and freedom that goes with it.
They need oil to do that. Hence out efforts in the ME
to stabilize the major oil producing countries.
