Sam--re: TSEM--When TSEM shares fell below the price paid by SNDK, it was necessary for SNDK to write off the difference between purchase price and market value. With the shares gaining value, SNDK can now report a one time addition to profits. This will definitely show up in the next quarterly report (using the price for TSEM on Dec. 31), and additional gains will show up in the current quarter as long as TSEM shares continue to rise. So, while this has no real impact on operating earnings, it goes to the bottom line for GAAP and may result in a higher stock price.
