I could care less how you or any other professional conducts themselves here on these boards. I'm not giving anyone a lecture on how they should act. I'm simply explaining that this is how I choose to conduct myself. Before I talk about a particular investment with someone I want some knowledge about their particular risk profile as well as their goals.

Well, make some good picks then! -gggg-

You've been around long enough to know what is "good" for one person isn't necessarily "good" for another. People come in many differing flavors when it comes to temperament and whether one can hold a particular investment is highly dependent on that temperament. Picks that are bad in a short time frame may in fact be excellent in a longer time frame. Nothing bothers me more than someone acting on a casual comment I've made about a company and then not asking me about execution or sell price target or what various fundamentals would change my mind about the company or even what time frame I'm thinking in. I've had situations in the past where people acted on companies I've mentioned at lunch, they lose money while I make money on the same issue just because they never gave me a chance to give them the whole scenario....then they blame me for this behavior. If I'm going to be hit on a recommendation I prefer it to be one in which I have some say on buy and sell execution. I make losing recommendations like any other professional does, these are offset by the good ones. It's a total package.

Please tell me, what could someone like me possibly gain from making public recommendations? Nothing, actually less than nothing because it would create far more negative feedback than positive. I make my recommendations to my clients in real time, in the market using real money with my yearly income and reputation at risk. I have no burning desire to be a chat board guru or cast a net for clients here.
