Bernanke, McTeer...apparently the much discussed 'dumbing down' of the nation has finally led to the illitarati rising to the very top

Bernanke is anything but an "illiteratus"--he recently bragged to US News & World Report that he got a 1590 on his SAT and would have won the national spelling bee if he hadn't misspelled "malinvestment" (unfortunately, this was about 50 years too early for him to be featured in the movie Spellbound). he also bragged to them about how MIT was so easy for him he was able to go to all the Bosox games and still get a PhD.

apparently, all of Bernanke's intellectual accomplishments from 50 years ago greatly impress the Beltway confederacy of dunces who run our national economic policy, so he is a shoo-in to replace Greenspan within the next 2 years. nobody can touch his SAT score among the Fed Governors--their combined score was only 800--so everybody is afraid to contradict him.

this is a bad situation, because now we will have an idiot-savant running the Fed (as opposed to a plain idiot like Greenspan).
