The fund is meant to mirror the comp in a downward direction by 2x the movement. It achieves that by shorting the stocks of the composite and also using options to achieve the leverage for 2x downward movement. This works ok if your right on movement but because volatility comes out of your puts as the index moves against you it can almost end up be a 3x percentage wise when it goes against you. Anyhow that is more info then you cared for I'm sure but wonderboy is buying the ultrashort because this market sucks as does Bush's policies. It's all destined to fail don't you know. I wouldn't wish financial ruin on anyone but it wouldn't bother me in the least if he and every moron on his thread didn't lose enough money that they were forced to disconnect from the internet.
