did you see Roberts Fisk's recent story about British troops beating an Iraqi to death? It's probably on ZNet. I recall the story, but couldn't tell you if it was written by Fisk. One of the characteristics of being a prison guard. When you have complete control over every movement of another human being, it brings out the ugliest in man. A friend of mine told me of a neighbor. Nice guy, going to University hoping to become an FBI agent. He ended up in the Maryland State penal system as a guard. Six months later he would come home after work and recount his abuse of prisoners. He found particular pleasure in finding excuses to use his cattle prod. jttmab
