150 million young men being born that can not find a spouse

Really? Just checking the world census figures here..

yahooligans.yahoo.com

OK it's only year 2000 data. I make the total delta males to females being 38,840,760 world wide. The age distribution is a factor. Only so many 14 yr olds want to get married. I waited until I was 30 yrs old.

If my figures are out, just say so. There are countries that have populations with more females then males. Those extra Chinese trouble maker males just need to move out and around a bit.

This song by the kinks does inspire though -g-

=============================================

The Kinks - Sunny Afternoon
The tax man's taken all my dough,
And left me in my stately home,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
And I can't sail my yacht,
He's taken everything I've got,
All I've got's this sunny afternoon.

Save me, save me, save me from this squeeze.
I got a big fat mama trying to break me.
And I love to live so pleasantly,
Live this life of luxury,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime

My girlfriend's run off with my car,
And gone back to her ma and pa,
Telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty.
Now I'm sitting here,
Sipping at my ice cold beer,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.

Help me, help me, help me sail away,
Well give me two good reasons why I oughta stay.
'Cause I love to live so pleasantly,
Live this life of luxury,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime

Ah, save me, save me, save me from this squeeze.
I got a big fat mama trying to break me.
And I love to live so pleasantly,
Live this life of luxury,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime

>>a war involving China will eventually be unavoidable.<<

What is the odds? a lot of Chinese think so too.

>>2. China's 'one child' policy has led to 150 million young men being born that can not find a spouse <<

This reason is laughable, and could only be raised by some paranoid who knows NOTHING at all about Chinese culture. First I don't know where did they get this voodoo estimate? second, China will find their own way to solve the problem, like finding a (much) younger woman to marry, which have been a standard practice in Chinese culture for the last 2000+years anyway, and this can indefinitely postpone the breaking point for the problem.

And the gov. has banned gender-select abortion since the last couple of years. and one-child policy has been relaxed since the last couple of years (there are 10 or so conditions for people being able to have 2nd children of their choice, not to mention in countryside, where 70% of Chinese live, one-child policy has NEVER been strictly followed anyway). As a result, the problem of abnormal sex-ratio at birth will be improved pretty soon.

Last but not the least, Chinese are not warlike people. So unless being serious provoked, China would NEVER go to war.

I agree war with China is almost inevitable within the next 50 years, and the blood of out troops will be on the consumers hands who are contributing to China's military modernization and buildup....
