No, Bill, but that seems to happen automatically with all programs run by bureaucrats. It's time to privatize education. The schools have turned into daycare centers for working parents.

My niece was 1st member of family to attend local public school. I noticed at last yr's closing ceremonies that 3/4 of her class received honors. That's ridiculous & has rendered honors status a farce. Evidently, state funds somehow created an unusually large number of brilliant children in same class.

no I don't want my tax dollars wasted but all this "outrage" on the part of conservatives wrt where tax dollars are going is falling on deaf ears now, what with this big spender in the WH and his massive corporate pork. I don't think I need to tell you that a bunch of those moveon.org clips were "what could be do with 87 billion". Maybe NCLB needs to be reworked, I don't know. But it is not my first priority, my first priority as far as budgetary actions would be to cancel the homeland security payouts, cancel the drug program and cancel the farm bill and energy bills or rescind all this mindless spending until we can get a handle on it. Forget NCLB that is small potatoes. Homeland security has turned into a pork fest. If Bush stays in the WH I am convinced we will have a dollar worth .5 euro and 700 billion dollar deficit. What I find truly amazing is the conservatives like yourself defending this mismanagement. If a dem was in the white house and spent like this I would want it to stop but you don't seem to care.
