We can't stop buying from opec. They control the market. Even if we could demand for dollars from opecs other customers would shrivel creating the same horrid results.

Oil will eventually be valued in euros.....nightmare for the US. The prime vehicle in Saudi Arabia is Mercedes. I didn't see a ford. Coca Cola is not available in SA. Pepsi only......go figure:o)
