Hmmm.... Who lied?

....Mr. Gillespie repeatedly referred to the ads as 'the MoveOn ad' or 'MoveOn's ad,' implying that we had sponsored or perhaps even commissioned the ad. And he also claimed that we might spend $7 million to run it on TV.

This is a lie.....

......It now turns out that the ad was one of two submissions comparing President Bush to Hitler that the organization posted, <font size=4>further reflecting the group's view that this despicable tactic complied with its guidelines..." Gillespie said.....

According to a website for the political advertising contest, ads should<font size=3> be "really creative ads that will engage and enlighten viewers and <font size=4>help them understand the truth about George Bush. There are some legal limits on what you can do (see below), <font size=4>and we're not going to post anything that would be inappropriate for television<font size=3>, but other than that what you put in your ads is up to you (live action, animation, personal rant, whatever!).""

"Such ads are anything but appropriate for television," Gillespie said, "and MoveOn.org should apologize for posting the ads as the Simon Wiesenthal Center today asked them to......<font size=3>

- we regret the appearance of these ads on the Bush In 30 Seconds site.

They are "dancing," E. Every ad put on the site was screened first. They had to be to make sure nothing they did not agree with was posted. Someone in their organization passed on the ads.

They should admit this.

"all good, hard-hitting and fair appraisals of the Bush record, in the judgment of the members and others who rated them. The two offending ads can only be found one place now -- on the RNC website!"

I applaud them for removing the adds from their website, but I don't think they have been forthright about how the adds got on their web site in the first place. It appears to me that some person or persons employed by them made the decision to post the adds. Remember also that a big stink had been raised regarding the first add and they still permitted a second.

Since they claim the moral highground, I think they owe an explanation of what happened and what they have done or intend to do to assure it doesn't happen again. But of course no more than the Republicans will stop beating them over the head with the add.

This is a lie. MoveOn.org hasn't sponsored such an ad, and we never would
