He!!!? My four best hairdressers were he's, and they weren't flamers either. I'm so jealous! It's so hard to find a good hairdresser in Oregon. Here's how I do it. I see someone with great hair and walk up and ask where they got it done. My problem - I find someone I love and then they move - no forwarding salon. That sucks.

One time I asked my neighbor where she had her hair done, I totally misunderstood her and went to the wrong place. I kind of suspected something was wrong when I noticed my hairdresser had tattoos - on her arms. I guess "Lisa" is a common name among stylists. Anyway, that disaster grew out pretty fast.

Actually, my boyfriend is pretty generous. If I'm running late and need a couple of dollars, he'll give me $20. I guess you could say we have the kind of relationship where everything comes out in the wash.

Here's a tip I got from my daughter. Wash hair with conditioner. I know, it sounds bogus, but it works - at least here in Oregon. You would think hair would look great with all the rain. Actually, there's some kind of moisture-sucking that goes on. My hair was so dry this summer it was breaking - then I started washing it with conditioner, AND my hair is shiny, voluminous and well-behaved again. When I go back to CA, my hair always looks great. But Oregon is weird. Not as weird as Montreal. My hair was the worst ever when I was there. It was sticky and matted and yucky. I think it's the water.
