Here's "a" New York Post column from yesterday using the [tired, old, PUT IT TO BED ALREADY!] Hitler analogy, this one from Ralph Peters, who is not usually so over the top. I definitely agree that the RNC is making a mountain out of a molehill here; all they are doing now is giving MoveOn and the remaining ads more publicity. Not a smart thing to do from the Repub perspective. nypost.com

It slipped by them and the RNC got some mileage out of it, E. What is said on SI, the media, etc, is "apples and oranges." A big Political outfit like "Move On" is going to get hammered when it has something out there comparing Bush to Hitler. The hoopla will be gone by next week, but it's "Gotcha" this week.

Why did they use such vague language & not offer any specifics or verbatim quotes? Because they don't have any to support their vague supposition. Those are facts. To the contrary, RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie made several public pronouncements that clearly do not imply what MoveOn deceptively claimed. He was on CNN & FOX stating precisely what I posted to you yesterday (I saw the interviews). And Gillespie is quoted verbatim in a number of print media (see below). The truth is that MoveOn doesn't want to admit that they allowed some horrific entries to be posted on their site when MoveOn expressly stated, <font size=4>"ads should.... help them <viewers> understand the truth about George Bush".... "we're not going to post anything that would be inappropriate for television"<font size=3>.... That's why they made up those baseless & intentionally vague allegations against the RNC. Perhaps you can provide the verbatim quotes from the RNC that supports MoveOn's vague assertions. I doubt any exist. However, these clearly contrary quotes do exist........
