<Leaders have to lead ALL the people>

Yes, that is what Kings of old Monarchies used to say, they represent ALL the people, while elected parliaments only represent those who elected them.

<not a 51% elite>

Yes, that is why single-seat, winner-takes-all districts are so funny.

Btw, by definition appr 50% are more median elite than the other 50%, any way one looks at it.

However, those two-party-50%-winner-takes-all thingies were popular only during some short decades in the late 1700s, except where they never evolved further nor backwards.

Btw, in a theoretical third party situatation, 34% takes all.

Another end-result is districts where only 7% bother to vote, or where no elections are needed, no opposition willing to waste money.

Btw, there are actually cultures where little 2-4% noses get to blow their noses.

Officially, constitutionally, and even smaller noses, if they unite to get something 2-4%, or less, support in just one voting district.

Unlcukily no anglo-culture has really applied, they just try to copy what Ireland did, major compromise, long time ago. (well, after they managed to decide on their own, 200 years too late)

Sadly, you can sell anything to Bubba, if it is packaged properly- almost all elitist writers of fiction which feature repressive totalitarian societies, and most communist revolutionaries know that.

Under the law they ARE exactly like me, no matter how stupidly they run things, and no matter how many "elitist" constitutional protections they are willing to give up. I can't help but be annoyed with them, and disgusted. Mismanagement and ignorance disgust me, and they always will.

Our founding fathers were elitists of high degree. They were intelligent, cultured men, who for some bizarre reason came up with the idea of trying to protect Bubbas from their own worst instincts. Hamilton knew, even when working to form this country, that "the people is rabble". The superior intellects are often right. Bubba doesn't even see the mice until all the grain has been eaten.

You've got to work with Bubbas, and I certainly wouldn't harm them in any way, but short sightedness vexes me. Not much I can do about that.
