But that's exactly what Rush was arguing. His point was that sportswriters overrate McNabb because he is black (and they want to see a black QB succeed).

I don't think that sports writers were overrating McNabb because he was black. That was Rush's twisted interpretation. Sports writers laud athletes or pan them based on their performance, not their race. I think it was Rush's perception.

Now I agree that Rush should be able to say what ever he wants. Should ESPN give him a platform for that? It's up to ESPN to decide it Rush is a plus or a minus to their show and to their audience.

On the EIB mircophone Rush can say what he wants because he is the boss. But in these cases we are talking about businesses and customers, it's not the same as an internet political board in which no one has a commercial interest in what is said. In this case, as in the case of political discussions and protests, censorship has no place.

I think Rush should be able to say anything he wants, short of libel. I watched McNabb win their last playoff game, and I can tell you that Rush is wrong. He's a great player, which I measure by heart, not stats. You could tell he was limping on BOTH legs, but he hung in and won the game.

Right. Rush Limburger, who can't even see his own feet much less tie his own shoes and never played Tiny-Mite football calls McNabb overrated because he's black. Not only was Rush wrong, but his racism was much too obvious. I'd like to see Rush go to any NFL locker room and make his case against Donovan McNabb.

Brett Favre vs. Donovan McNabb in a playoff showdown. Enough said.
