Judges approve Republicans' congressional map for Texas

By R.G. RATCLIFFE

Houston Chronicle Austin Bureau

AUSTIN -- A three-judge federal court today upheld a Republican congressional redistricting plan against claims that it harms minority voting rights, but the court sharply criticized the process of adopting the map as a threat to the system of fair elections.

Great news from Texas. Ynobe (ebony spelled backwards) was executed yesterday. The only thing he did was rape and strangle a woman in her apartment. He also raped and killed another Lady.

One of his rape victims who got away described how he would strangle her until almost unconscious and then let up. It would happen again and again.

For some reason I think this world is better off with out this piece of slime.

That is a narrow argument...

The toll road shift of expenses is much less efficient than public streets or freeways. There is the cost of toll booths, cash handling, non compliance, radio tag payments, and enforcement. The businesses that would line a regular road will lose customers who don't want to pay to exit and reenter, that in turn cuts tax revenues further. The surrounding streets which were not meant for high volume traffic will fill with those who don't like tolls, left their wallet home today, or just don't want to wait in line for change because their toll tag expired.

Instead of the government doing the kinds of things it does best we get a short sighted increase in the cost of living just so Junior can claim a manipulation in one category of budget. This is just one example of the tragedy of having leadership that can only keep one notion in their head at a time.

Both Fastows trying to obtain plea bargains
By MARY FLOOD, Houston Chronicle

Former Enron Chief Financial Officer Andrew Fastow and his wife, Lea, are negotiating plea bargains that could send the once high-flying couple to federal prison.

Federal prosecutors are discussing a 10-year sentence for Andrew Fastow, and the plea bargain offered to Lea Fastow in November for a five-month term is back on the table, sources close to the case told the Houston Chronicle.

But the deals could still collapse, as Lea Fastow's did in November. Two federal judges, prosecutors and the defendants all must agree on the details for a plea to be finalized.
