20% decrease per year is a very little* decrease. So the year must be good for manufacturers (their cost drops faster than 20%) and, BTW do they speak nand, NOR or both?* Gartner's prediction for a 20% drop in chip price for flash memory is for NAND flash memory. The press release said Infineon would initially start manufacturing NAND flash memory. However, the technology Infineon obtained from Saifun Semiconductor can also be used to fabricate all other types of non-volatile memory.
