My entire exposure to this property tax issue came a few years ago when my startup company wanted to lease and build up some land in cupertino. We were surprised to find that Tandem, a company that was no longer in existance, owned *all* the land in the area! There was this LP set up which was managed under HP's legal dept...

Tandem's real estate was being managed by HP a few years ago? Interesting since Tandem was bought by Compaq and didn't become part of HP until late 2002.

Anyway, is that startup still in existence? How many years old? Ever make a profit? IPO in four/seven/ten years?
