Hi KastelCo,

We had the opportunity to visit Vancouver while on an Alaskan cruise, a few years ago now. We spent some extra time in the Vancouver area.

One of the side trips (and the best one, I might add) was to Victoria and Butchart Gardens. My wife and I could have actually vacationed there for a few weeks, it was that lovely. Alas, we only spent the greater part of one day, and a good portion of that was on the ferry back and forth from the Vancouver area.

That area of that island has to be one of the world's most beautiful locations. For anyone planning on visiting the northwestern USA or the Vancouver area, or even nearby British Columbia, I highly recommend taking a day or two to visit Victoria and Butchart Gardens. It's time well spent.
