Who says Richard Pearle and Co. is correct in their assessment. I can understand the US being against the Communist Soviet regime because of political/idological differences between their Government and the non-Communist world. But that does not apply to SA. We have no business going in to topple anyone on the pretext that tere is a movement over there. Let their own Govt. fight them and if they need our help let them ask us for it.

If we are to apply the logic you posted then we need to go and attack all those countries in the world where there is internal political or ideological strife. That logic coming from Perle is non sense.
