It's ironic we are debating how to legalize the status of millions of people who entered the US illegally without much difficulty, yet we are going berserk trying to keep a small list of suspects from flying into the country.

If I wanted to get terrorists and weapons into the US nowadays, I would call up the Mexican smugglers and the Colombian drug lords and have a little chat about the import-export business. Wouldn't be hard at all.

The more I read, the more I believe that to root out terrorism, we should have gone against Saudi Arabia. I may have to listen more closely to the conspiracy theorists who link the Bush family and the Saudis. I really hope not and rather believe that the Saudi situation is so complicated that it would be very difficult to attack militarily. However, strong negotiation and the threat of doing something serious, as opposed to posturing, with respect to alternative fuels, might just convince the Saudis that they are better served without funding terror training in schools all over the Arab world, as well as funnelling money to terrorists and suicide bombers.
