"Syrian President Bashar Assad said he is serious in his intention to renew peace talks with Israel, and intends taking all the necessary steps to reach a peace agreement in the Middle East," Erdogan told Avivi, according to Haaretz. Erdogan also offered to mediate between Israel and Syria. For his part, al-Assad received at his residence in Istanbul, on Thursday, leading Turkish media men with the attendance of Foreign Minister, Farouk a Shara. The Syrian President gave an overall review about his talks in Turkey, SANA reported. Earlier, President al-Assad met with Turkish businessmen. "Syria is serious in tackling hindrances, bureaucracy and negative aspects," al-Assad said, expressing his hope that the economic relations will witness a big development to the benefit of the Syrian and Turkish interests.
