Yes, his slogan was "Buy American" but don't you remember in one of the magazine shows where they had the foreign made clothes on racks next to the "Buy American" slogan in the store. I don't recall exactly, but the goods may even had been made with child or prison labor. This was a long time ago.

People want cheap new stuff. For it to be cheap, it will probably be foreign. For us to keep jobs in the United States we must shop "American." However, the majority of us will shop cheap and than holler like stuck pigs when our companies either shut down or move to foreign companies to take advantage of cheap labor......

Is Walmart causing a shift to foreign products or reacting to the fact that most products are foreign?

Doesn't seem to matter which store I go to. Many, if not most of the products come from overseas. In fact most of the parts for Fords and Chevys come from Mexico and Brazil.

You can't blame Walmart for the fact that manufacturing has just evaporated.

And for those that are just going to buy American...good luck, even Levis is leaving the country.

You looking for someone to blame? Look to the White House, who's China policy is one of appeasement, while the trade deficit goes through the roof.
