SI Intermittent Delays

TC,

<< Seems to be numerous complaints about the loading speed of SI today. Some pages load instantly and some take forever. I keep getting request timed out after swbell a lot. Any ideas? >>

It is indeed intermittently slow. I use Comcast Cable in Delaware (3 Mb/s DL, 248 Kb/s UL), and all caching off.

Loading the SI home page ranges between 1.5 seconds to 16 seconds end to end RT.

I've been toggling back and forth between IHub and SI for the last hour.

IHub's has been running a very zippy .4 seconds to an occassional 6 seconds.

I use Lucent's VitalAgent 8.01 as a network monitoring tool. It breaks down transaction time between client, network, and server. IHub typically running 20-30% server time v. SI running 60% to 80% server times. No abnormal delay due to network congestion, and none uplink request.

You're always going to get timeouts right at the ISP because they've shut off pinging since it's been used for DoS's.

I still don't know what is causing the slowdown at SI lately. A bad time for it to be doing it, too, since it's distracting me from going full-steam on developing the new version.
