Walmart started selling Chinese-mfrd goods many moons ago. Whenever they move into a rural area within a yr small businesses begin to close up because they can't compete with artificially low prices at WMT. There are still many American made AND owned products. You'll find links to some of the websites at www.howamericanscanbuyamerican.com

Roger Simmermaker's book of the same name, has extensive lists identifying US-owned & their brand names & foreign lists as well. Just read at that website an article from Business Week predicting that "Buy American" will have an upsurge in 2004 as consumer backlash to the effects of free trade.
