Marcos,

If you look at the orginal post I was responding to - it was making the preposterous claim that the emergence of freedom and democracy in eastern and southern Europe was an entirely North Western European phenomena.

I never stated anything about Germany, nor did I credit Reagan or any other president or country as the sole 'winner' of the cold war. These debating tricks of rebutting points I never made belong entirely to Win.

As to the original Schäuble piece - yes I agree with you and enjoyed the article. This whole thread began when I responded to Jacobs comments and Win responded from left field (in its orthoginal rather than political sense).

I hate having words put in my mouth. If I kept responding to posts you made with trite comments about something you hadn't even argued, I suspect you would get upset as well.

His general thesis seems that my original point is shared by those he calls neoconservative warmongers so I must be one. The corollory is that since his arguments are also supported by anti-semites - he must be one.

Why you would jump in to defend this idiot is beyond me.

John
