<<Everyday someone I know becomes unemployed because their company is taking jobs to China/India.>>> dont know where are you located BUT last xmass and new year parties, young MD and lawyers in their early thirtes ( my children age) are talking about buying houses instead of renting. People in my development selling their houses to move into bigger ones. friends in the pharmaceutical companies changing and have custom built houses. Weekend go to walmart, homedepot or restaurant : the traffic is heavy and long line at cashier counter. You can always take pulse of the economy by checking out these places.

"Do you actually know anyone employed right now in U.S.?"

Yes. In fact I have I never met anybody who could not get a job if he/she wanted one. What is your point?

"he (Bush) has done nothing to keep Americans employed or to stifle flood of illegal immigrants whose presence adds to woes of overburdened taxpayers"

It is not the government's job to give jobs to people. I believe his tax policies are a large part of the reason the economy has turned around and the job market is improving. Regarding illegal aliens, at least he is making an effort to document the illegals. I am waiting to see if there is a stick to go along with the carrot in the form of deporting the ones that do not register. Both parties SUCK on the emigration laws, but repubs are firmer overall than the dems. Surely you know this.
