thx Ira i will review that document. one of my weaknesses is ignoring the IRS. my worst experience in my investing career was finding myself in the enviable position, albeit temporarily, of looking at over a 200K gain in a stock in the middle of a year 2000 when I already had lots of gains and didn't want to sell to further increase my tax liability. that was a BIG gain for me, a 2 bit player mostly... thought about shorting against the box on most of the position, but didn't get around to it. turned out to be a short squeeze that blew up and my gain went pouf! that being said, i don't expect to be long ZHNE for long enough to be a LT cap gain (optimist moi) unless it has truly constructive news. mike
