Federal mandates should be unconstitutional. States rights should be stronger legally than any federal mandate about anything. A federal mandate is one form of tyranny from Washington over the states and states rights.

OT:

I will skip over the BS innuendo about teacher's pets and sucks ups with an observation that just because someone doesn't have a chip on their shoulder like you do doesn't mean that they are suck ups or teachers pets.

It may mean that they have direct experience currently, which you apparently do not, which leads them to a different conclusion that you.

I know that the republican agenda is to privatize education, to commoditize it and subject it to market forces which essentially means that only those with money will be able to get it in quality form. The republicans are fine with the concept of a permanent underclass. No child left behind has to be the biggest joke in nomenclature I have seen. Just like many other republican nomenclatures, the result will be just the opposite of what the name suggests. You apparently think that education couldn't get worse in this country. I've got news for you. If the republicans get their way, it will get worse for people who can't afford to pay.
