Hello Pezz, Report:
I bought two dumbbell-ful of physical Panda gold coins yesterday, accounting for a fair percentage of the minted quantity, because the 2004 mintage is out and I had to buy when they are available, not when I think the price is right.

Then again, when one thinks about it, the price is never right ;0)

If you remember, I purchase Panda gold coins every year.

I don't want everything under the same house in case of trouble.

Sounds interesting. Although any kind of trouble in the markets is unlikely to happen -g-

Is there a way I can find out who Ameritrade uses for clearing? Why would having a different house doing the clearing be of benefit to a customer? I can guess, but was hoping a knowledgeable person can chip in.

pezz - also consider having your sweep or cash account be governmnet of treasury only. oridinary money markets have commercial papaer in them. Schwab has a treasury only option. Stuff hits fan, commercial paper could freeze for a few days....
