Your question:

Chinu.. where was the UN authorization to use force when Bush invaded Afghanistan?

Where was the UN authorization to use force when Clinton started bombing Serbia's handling of its separatist province, Kosovo?

I have said that when the US sought a further vote in the Security Council and decided not to bring it to the floor for a vote after having failed to lobby successfully for a majority vote, they should have abstained from the Iraqi attack until such time they could secure a majority, I recall that Russia finally agreed to abstain. But initially they went with France and Germany. And then the US diplomats worked with Russia and succeeded in moving them to the center.

Alternatively, Bush should not have sought a second vote. He did not do so with the Congress. And that is why the Democratic contenders who voted are being required to explain why they voted for the Iraqi war. The onus is on them to explain not on Bush

But in the case of the UN it was Busj who went there last. !441 was not his last act.
