twenty-first century fangs would at least in part be formed of missiles, however, so i think it necessary that we have that capability, completely canadian in manufacture and control ..... we wouldn't need a lot of them, and we wouldn't need that much range, it's not so far from our territory to any of the capitals of concern

Oh, I definitely agree, but how do you think the U.S. would feel about Canada having its own missile defense system? Not too damned happy, I'm sure.

Agreed on the military being largely conventional, just updated and made more mobile as it is enlarged, also heavily weighted to peacekeeping and humanitarian operations. We are very good in that field. I have a number of friends who have served long years on peacekeeping missions around the world and what most would like to see is some updated equipment. I trust their opinions in this area. ,, but yes, I would like to see a few sharp, shiney fangs added to the smile too.
