Where we will be mining there is natural methane. We won't need dynamite. Just drill up holes, let 'em fill up, and light a match.

Dynamite is dirt cheap. At least ANFO is. What I want to reduce the cost of is fuze and detonators. Mercuric azide caps or b-line are/is expensive. There has to be a better way to initiate powder.

Maybe hydrogen. That's it. a vial with acid that dissolves a hydrogen releasing substance and a piezio sparker. Sulfuric acid and steel wool. Pozes a problem if you change your mind at the last minute before blasting. I would not want to be the one asked to remove the caps.

If it weren't for the fact that the Germans discovered cheap ways of making rapid oxidizers from air before the 1st world war, the new world order would not be possible. Our mastery of pin point land air sea operations is mostly hijacked from German military planning of about 1945. Funny bunch of guys. Nobody could ever beat their army, but they could never win a war.
