The problem (percieved or real) is in my case, not the lack of leadership, but rather complete lack of political history and culture (homo politicus). My family (father) was politically neutralized / neutered in 1945, and twenty years of political monoculture achieved the rest. It's pretty much mutatis mutandis along the lines of what French term "catholique non-pratiquant": I have a political opinion, but have not voted for years. etc. Maybe that's where I should start, in My Own Backyard (g). Learn more about my own freedom (see Kant/enlightment) and act. And re leadership, what about Aung San Suu Kyi? And Dalay Lama as VP?

it's pretty clear to the Rest of Us that such overwhelming power in so few hands will be far and away our greatest problem in this century, Or more or less as Porfirio Diaz said in Mexico's case, so far from God and so close to the US, eh? He was really onto something but didn't know it at the time. What a lot of the Rest of You don't understand or don't accept because of the Way Things Are Done in many of Your non-democratic countries (which most of You are) is that the US is a vigorously democratic country with more or less smart people casting Presidential votes. There is no way that the American voter is going to let your fears become a reality, so relax and enjoy it as we make the world a bit safer for all of Us, including You.
