I'd tend to agree with you to a certain extent. Betting against human stupidity is a poor percentage bet most days. On the other hand, if memory serves me correctly, opposition to the Iraq invasion was near 80% going in to January last year. The shift in public opinion didn't kick in until after the State of the Union speech with the "16 words", and the constant Powell statements about "irrefutable proof", and the Cheney statements blaming Saddam for 9/11, and the Rumsfeld comments about all of the above. If you repeat the same lie often enough, it's bound to affect public opinion. Plus you had the fantastic push to slant everything is such a way as to create an anti dissent environment. The kind of immunity required to avoid a con job of that magnitude isn't something most folks acquire in the average work-a-day life. 2 hours to work in rush hour traffic, then 2 hours to home in rush hour traffic 9 hours later, doesn't leave much spare time for critical thinking, especially when the basic facts aren't being reported by the usual sources.

It's not that people aren't smart enough to figure out what's going on. Most of them never got a chance to do so.

With over a year of no WMDs in Iraq as a back drop, and the scandals over falsified evidence related to WMDs, the disclosure of plans to invade Iraq predating 9/11 could potentially be a turning point. The pieces are in play anyhow. If anyone in the main stream media breaks ranks and does a serious report on the Mariani suit, that's all she wrote for the Bush Cartel. We'll see.

Yep, also notice, who got the anthrax letters, (spores DNA proven to be from our biolabs, FBI swept the investigation under the rug). Heck even congressmen admitted they signed it without reading it. Hehehe, fear works to the basic of human behavior.

These con artists are really good. I have t.o give them that :)

obviously our religion is the automobile and our sacred grounds are the blood splashed highways and byways...
