What do you think "all in all" means Allan

1 Corinthians 12:6 And there are diversities of operations,
but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

God was not working "operations" in all men in this verse.

You are right Alan - it utterly fails me to even understand what
you are believing - let alone agree with it.

What does Paul mean that "God may be all in all?

Do you disagree with Strongs explanation of the word aionios?

166 aiwniov aionios ahee-o’-nee-os

from 165; TDNT-1:208,31; adj

AV-eternal 42, everlasting 25, the world began + 5550 2, since the world began + 5550 1, for ever 1; 71

1) without beginning and end, that which always has been and always will be
2) without beginning
3) without end, never to cease, everlasting

Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting <166> punishment:
but the righteous into life eternal <166>.

The life and death are both described as "eternal" <166> by translators
yet you say this is incorrect so then we did not inherit eternal life
but something temporal?

Here is another translation by Weymouth

Matthew 25:46 "And these shall go away into the Punishment of the Ages,
but the righteous into the Life of the Ages."

We must be consistent about the meaning of the word
especially within the same sentence!!

Brian

RE>>After sin and death are abolished,
no one will be dead in their sins. God can be all in all.<<

Alan - what do you do with the "unfogivable sin" mentioned by Christ.

Now I can sort of see how you can wrangle things about to suit
your more "merciful and loving" image of God but Jesus said this:

Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin
and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy
against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man,
it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against
the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him,
neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
33 Either make the tree good, and its fruit good;
or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt:
for the tree is known by its fruit.

Curious as to your interpretation of the wording there.

They are NOT FORGIVEABLE in this "age" nor the "age to come"

The "neither" I would presume refers to the eternal age?
