ElM, I don't buy the idea that minds have a natural size. Countries are just agglomerations of minds. If powerful minds work in harmony, they don't have a natural limit, especially when turbocharged with artificial brainpower in the form of It.

The USA with 300 million brains within the borders and a billion or so outside the borders, all feeding into the system, is pretty much unlimited. Chinese CDMA researchers are employed by QUALCOMM and other CDMA companies and their achievements all feed into the USA system. Indian software programmers are feeding into the system from Bangalore [and all over the place].

If there is a limit, it's so far away it's not going to matter for a few decades at least.
