There are good consistent translations out there Brian. AE Knoch was instumental in the translation of the Concordant Literal New Testament. Rotherham's emphasized is also good. Young's Literal Translation for me is sort of cumbersome.

I believe we are still in the ages. 1 Corinthians 2:7 tells us that there was a time before the ages. Then God made the ages (Hebrews 1:2). We are in the present evil age (Galations 1:4) The ages will end. (Hebrews 9:26 & 1 Corinthians 10:11)

I believe that Christ defeated death when He was resurrected. I believe He has not yet abolished either sin or death. I believe the millenial reign of Christ is yet future. After the millenial reign, Christ will also reign for the new heaven and new earth. During the new heaven and earth reign, Christ will abolish all enemies, thereby signaling the end of the ages.

For He must be reigning until He should be placing all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy is being abolished: death. For He subjects all under His feet. Now whenever He may be saying that all is subject, it is evident that it is outside of Him Who subjects all to Him. Now whenever all may be subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also shall be subjected to Him Who subjects all to Him, that God may be All in all.

Here is a chart showing what I believe.
