Nice sound bite, but rather silly comparison imo. Don't know for sure what you mean by "do(ing) it with a knife", but my guess is that you are talking about assassination, which is illegal. Another important aspect of the Iraq war is to demonstrate what may happen to those who endanger the U.S. Since assassination is illegal, it would have to be secret, and no message would be sent. We tried to make the case to the entire world through the inept and corrupt U.N., and it did not work. The longer the French, Germans, Russians and U.N. ran interference for Saddam, the more time to hide weapons etc.

I am guessing what you mean, because you are not at all specific. If I am off base, let me know how YOU would have gotten rid of Saddam "with a knife".
